Born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Bonnie began her paddle life in a raft on the Cheat River in Pennsylvania. In the last 15 years, she has paddled extensively in the Western United States. Bonnie paddles a kayak, an open canoe, or has rowed a raft. Her Arctic paddling has included a 300 mile paddle trip to the Arctic Ocean on the Coppermine River in 2003 as well as several of the Alaskan Class III and IV rivers. Bonnie has adventured to Alaska four times in the last two years. She has also kayaked in Honduras and France.
In the off season, when the water is frozen, Bonnie telemark skis in ski areas and in the backcountry or she volunteers to guide blind skiers in the Eldora Special Recreation Program. Over the last four years a Guide Dog Puppy has been a continuous part of the Gallagher household.
