The Foundation regularly hires teachers and instructors who guide the students throughout their training.
Teachers are selected based on their technical credentials, including emphasis on certificates obtained in their respective disciplines. At times, the Foundation looks to hire professional mountaineers who have excelled in their field, and are internationally known and respected.
The preferred ratio is one teacher per every two students. The courses have an initial term of three years; therefore a long term commitment is required by both the instructors and the students.
