Pietro Simonetti
Pietro’s no stranger to performing extreme stunts to raise money for good causes. In 2001, he found himself standing on top of Aconcagua—at 23,000 feet, the highest mountain in the Western Hemisphere. In March of 2002, Pietro and four other Across the Atlas teammates set a Guinness World Record by skiing all 28 Colorado resorts in a frenetic 80 hours and 41 minutes. Pietro was one of two skiers on a 2003 Kilimanjaro expedition who made a descent down Kili’s Heim Glacier. In 2005 Pietro skied on both the snow and Sahara sand of Morocco. 2006 was a big year for Pietro and his crew with separate treks to the summit of Mount Elbrus—Europe’s highest point—and uncharted territories in northern Alaska. In January 2008, Pietro led his ATA posse in skiing all California resorts in four record-setting days. All for worthy causes whose needs far exceed the team’s notable achievements.

Rick Compton
Rick has circled the globe . . . by car, motorcycle, plane and bicycle. Anything with wings or wheels. He’s a graduate of the famed BMW Performance Driving School, was a track and wheeled vehicle specialist for the U.S. Army, and is a licensed private pilot. This past summer, he logged over 35,000 miles with The BMW Ultimate Drive, in support of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Need to get somewhere—under deadline and for a good cause? Rick’s your guy.

Kelly Myers
Kelly's an outdoor-loving Oregonian son of a native Californian recently returned to his roots in Norcal. He loves adventure, life, trials and successes. Kelly grew up hiking in the woods behind his house in Eugene, OR, and nurtured his love of the outdoors by joining Willamette Pass Ski Team in 6th grade, completing Outward Bound in the Cascades, and diving wrecks off of Roatan, Honduras. He hikes daily with his dog in Wildcat Canyon, sails in the San Fran Bay as often as he can, and rides all winter at Tahoe. He also knows some great hidden lakes, waterfalls and cliff jumps, but if he told you where they were he’d have to . . . well, you know.

Jesse Borrell
A New Yorker by way of Connecticut, Jesse’s early family outings taught him to engage life with fun, passion and adventure. Whether it’s carving back bowls on his snowboard or performing a skydive free-fall, he’s always looking for his next kick. Jesse recently completed his Television and Radio Production degree at Ithaca College in upstate New York. After travels across Europe and the United States, life seems to fit appropriately within the frame of his camera lens—still or video. Jesse expects that this record-breaking trip in Europe will be among many challenging journeys throughout his career.
